TAKEheart Program Updates

This page is dedicated to COVID-19 updates for AHRQ’s TAKEheart project, including how the TAKEheart team is adjusting program offerings, supporting hospitals in alternate ways, and making new resources available to be responsive to the current pandemic.

Coronavirus disease 2019

This page will continue to be updated with new information as it becomes available.

ADJUSTMENTS TO THE TAKEHEART PROGRAM

Several short-term TAKEheart program adjustments have been made so hospital staff can take the time they need to address the immediate needs of the pandemic and be available to return to TAKEheart activities once they resume.

Training Modules: The TAKEheart training modules are postponed until further notice. The first two training modules and corresponding materials continue to be available on demand on the Training page.

  • An email will be sent to Partner Hospitals, Learning Community Hospitals, and registered participants when the trainings resume. In addition, the Training page will be updated with the date and time of upcoming trainings once they are rescheduled.

Partner Hospital Cohort 1: All Partner Hospital Peer Action Group Meetings are currently on hold.

  • The TAKEheart team will reach out to Partner Hospitals in August 2020 to assess readiness to resume activities.

Partner Hospital Cohort 2: Partner Hospital Cohort 2 is delayed until Spring 2021.

Learning Community: The TAKEheart Learning Community was originally scheduled to begin in April 2020 and will be postponed to a later date.

  • An email will be sent to Learning Community Hospital staff in advance of the launch with more details.
  • In the meantime, all Learning Community Hospital staff should have received invitations to the Affinity Groups described below. Please contact TAKEheart@abtassoc.com if you would like to receive information about future Affinity Groups.

COVID-RELATED SUPPORT FOR TAKEHEART HOSPITALS

TAKEheart is offering additional support for hospitals during COVID-19, which can be accessed through this login page. Available materials include:

Affinity Groups: TAKEheart has held several affinity group discussions with leading experts and staff who work in cardiac rehabilitation programs in participating hospitals. To receive a copy of the presentation slides and summary for each event or to receive information about future Affinity Groups, please contact TAKEheart@abtassoc.com.

COVID Resources: TAKEheart has a one-stop shop for COVID-related resources such as articles, tools, and materials identified through the Affinity Group discussions, environmental scan, or by other participating hospitals.

Online Collaboration Workspace: The TAKEheart online collaboration workspace (a shared, private space for TAKEheart Partner and Learning Community Hospitals and other interested hospital staff) now includes a COVID-19 specific section for participating hospitals to post questions and share resources. All registered users should have received credentials and a user guide outlining how to access and use the site.

If you are interested in joining the discussion, accessing COVID-related resources including past Affinity Group recordings and materials, or have trouble accessing the workspace, please contact TAKEheart@abtassoc.com for assistance.
